Four Bundesliga games and the final two league phase Champions League group stage games will be played by Borussia Dortmund’s first team in the new year. Borussia will then be aware of their position in the top tournament in Europe.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs. BVB on Friday, January 9 at 20:30 CET, Saturday, and Sky
Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt will host the Black & Yellows’ first competitive game of 2026. Less than two months ago, they visited the Eagles for the second round of the DFB-Pokal against BVB and Eintracht Frankfurt. Gregor Kobel’s save allowed Borussia to advance to the round of 16.

SV Werder Bremen vs. BVB on Tuesday, January 13 (20:30 CET, Sky)
Midweek is when the final game of the season’s first half takes place. The first round of matches will conclude with a visit from SV Werder Bremen. The Black & Yellows have defeated the Green & Whites three times and drawn two times in their last five meetings. BVB has the chance to continue their run at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK in their first home game of the new year.

FC St. Pauli vs. BVB on Saturday, January 17 (15:30 CET, Sky)
BVB takes on FC St. Pauli in their third Bundesliga game in eight days. The Kiezkickers have played nine Bundesliga games at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK, however they have yet to win (three draws, six losses). The previous time Borussia hosted St. Pauli, they prevailed 2-1. Ramy Bensebaini and Serhou Guirassy scored goals in October of 2024.

Tuesday, January 20 (21:00 CET, Prime): BVB vs. Tottenham Hotspur
BVB’s last away journey of the Champions League’s league phase will take them to Tottenham, London. The Black & Yellows, who are currently in tenth place in the standings, will play the Spurs, who are in eleventh. Both teams are direct rivals in the fight for a straight spot in the round of 16 after earning 11 points in the Champions League thus far.

1. FC Union Berlin vs. BVB on Saturday, January 24 (18:30 CET, Sky)
In the first leg, BVB celebrated their first victory of the year. Serhou Guirassy scored twice in their seventh straight Bundesliga victory over Union Berlin at home, and Felix Nmecha added a final goal to make it 3-0. BVB has only previously triumphed twice at the Stadion An der Alten Münsterei, most recently in the 2023–2024 season, winning 2-0 thanks to goals from Ian Maatsen and Karim Adeyemi.

Borussia Dortmund will play Inter Milan at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK to wrap off the Champions League group stage. The Italian team recently fell to Liverpool (1-0) and Atletico Madrid (2-1) after beginning the season with four victories in Europe’s top division. Borussia Dortmund, who now have the top attack (19 goals, tied with Paris Saint-Germain), will play Inter Milan, who have the second-best defense in the Champions League (four goals given up).
