Following a Scottish FA meeting today (Tuesday), Celtic’s appeal regarding Auston Trusty’s red card during Sunday’s draw against Hearts at Tynecastle has been denied.

It is obvious that the result of today’s appeal has greatly disappointed us.

According to the VAR Protocol, VAR must only step in when a “clear and obvious error” occurs.

It is hard to see how the initial yellow card decision was a blatant mistake, and as a result, the refereeing team’s use of VAR was in violation of the regulations.

While we wait for the official ruling, we will make sure to have additional conversations with the SFA in order to comprehend the reasoning behind this and previous judgments.
